Program Information
Since its inception Master Mary’s Taekwondo based program has expanded to be inclusive of children with a wider range of physical and developmental disorders including: A.D.H.D., autism, temporary and permanent hearing loss, Tourette Syndrome and Spina Bifida. Master Mary regularly updates programming to suit the needs of incoming students and welcomes inquiries from prospective families looking for programming for a child with special needs.
Master Mary has also dedicated much of her time to serving children through the Special Education Department of the Madison County School System for nearly two decades. Years of experience and training have assisted in the development of Master Mary’s unique programming and thoughtful way of teaching.
Adaptive Classes
Classes are small and designed for various levels of ability.
Programming has been designed and organized with consideration for all levels of ability.
Class sizes are kept small to help accommodate children with sensory issues.
Students have two to four private lessons with Master Mary before blending into a small group setting.
Not “form” based. This means students don’t have to learn a pattern to be able to promote to the next rank.
Master Mary’s Taekwondo Academy is not a franchised or large “commercial martial art school.” Keeping the academy private enables her to focus on the success of each child.
Private Classes
Private classes are available for children that need a one-on-one setting. Reach out for more information.
